Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour is one of Australia’s most iconic outdoor dining events, set within the Royal Botanic Gardens with spectacular harbour views. Working across multiple purpose-built kitchens, our team delivers high-volume, premium food service to theatre guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a large, professional brigade for the full Opera season.
About the role
- Based at Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, Royal Botanic Gardens
- Work closely with the Sous and Head Chefs to ensure efficient food production and quality control
- Run your own section in a busy event service environment
- Ensure the highest standards of presentation, consistency and food quality
- Tuesday to Sunday 3pm to 9pm
- 36 hours per week
- Seasonal casual role: 25 March to 3 May 2026
Essential Requirements
- Trade qualified in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in events, bulk production or high-volume restaurant kitchens
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be passionate and open to learning new skills in the kitchen
- Be punctual and reliable
- Hold valid working rights
- Available to commit for the full duration of the event
